Dr. Melissa Brandner-Otten, DDS
Dr. Melissa Brandner-Otten is the main dentist at Parkside Dental, a native of South Dakota with over 16 years of experience in the dentistry profession. Her favorite part about dentistry is developing a relationship with patients and their families, motivating them to maintain good oral health and striving to provide them with a positive, pain-free, educational dental visit.
Working for 10 years at the Dental Clinic in Canton, SD before opening her own practice, Dr. Brandner-Otten has lived in the community of Tea for over a decade and is very happy to work and help create a positive impact in the community. A 1999 graduate of the University of Nebraska’s College of Medicine and School of Dentistry, and completing over 100 course hours for Comprehensive Orthodontic Education, Dr. Brander-Otten also received her undergraduate degree in Environmental Science at NSU in Aberdeen, SD.
In her spare time, Dr. Brandner-Otten spends time trail-riding and barrel racing her horses, as well as traveling and camping with her husband and three children.

Dr. Alex Broesder, DDS
DENTIST
Alex graduated from Canton High School in 2011. He attended South Dakota State University for undergraduate studies and graduated from Marquette University School of Dentistry in 2019 in Milwaukee, WI. Alex has been practicing dentistry in the Sioux Falls area since receiving his Doctotorate.
Alex is married to his wife Kiley, who is also a 2011 graduate from Canton High School and SDSU.
In his free time, he enjoys traveling, kayaking, bicycling, and spending time with family, friends, and his wife and Siberian Husky.
Alex has been a part of the Parkside Dental Team since October 2020.

Shari
Shari was born in LeMars, IA and moved to Tea in the 5th grade with her mom and Stepdad. Shari joined our team in August of 2020, after she moved back home from serving in the Air Force. Her family consists of her dad Matt S, her Stepdad who lives in Tea, and Late mother Karen H along with her five siblings, two of which are also serving in the Military. Shari is furthering her education at the school of EMS in Sioux Falls, SD. She enjoys reading, watching movies, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends.

Laura
Laura is one of our dedicated Dental Assistants and has been a part of the Parkside Dental Team since April 2013. Laura has been happily married for 3 years to her husband Cory. Together they have 2 pets, Bailey their ½ Black Lab ½ German Shepard, and cat Camille.
Laura graduated in 2010 from Lake Area Technical Institute with her Certified Dental Assistant Degree.
She enjoys camping, shopping, traveling, and most of all spending time with friends and family.
Laura is a very compassionate and detail-oriented and always puts her patients care at the highest priority. She is very excited to see you at your next dental visit.

Shari
Shari, originally from Sioux Falls, is one of our wonderful Dental Assistants and also assists Dr Brandner with our Orthodontic program. She has been part of the Parkside Dental Team since June 2010.
Shari is happily married to her husband David and stays very busy spending time with her 3 children, 4 step children and 4 grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoys fishing, wood working, bowling, playing darts and going for motorcycle rides, and last but not least, spending time with friends and family.
Shari is very knowledgeable, willing to help in any way possible and will always greet you with a warm smile. She is a huge asset to our practice. She will be very happy to see you at your next scheduled visit.

Deb
Deb lives on an acreage of land in Alcester, SD and has been a part of our Dental Hygiene Team since August 2020. Deb is a Minnesota graduate and has been using her Dental Hygiene skills since 1999. She moved from Central Minnesota to South Dakota in 2004. Her family members include her husband John who works for the SD DOT, her son Dillon who attends Mitchell Technical Institute and participates in rodeo, her other son Colton and daughter RaeLyn whom are both homeschooled. Deb‘s family enjoys participating in rodeos, mainly roping events. Deb is a super hygienist who is always striving to be the best she can be and putting her patient’s oral health above all else. She is looking forward to meeting you at your next Dental Hygiene appointment.

Amanda
Amanda is one of our amazing Registered Dental Hygienists. She is from Corsica, SD. Her family members include her husband and 1 ½ year old daughter and a baby on the way.
Amanda attended the University of South Dakota where she earned her Bachelor Degree in Dental Hygiene in 2014. She has been part of the Parkside Dental Team since 2017.
She enjoys going to the river and the zoo and just spending time with her family.

Nikki
Nikki is from Groton, SD. She graduated from USD in 2018 with a Bachelors Degree in Dental Hygiene and has been a Dental Hygienist with the Parkside Dental Team since May 2018.
Nikki is currently living in Tea, SD with her significant other, Max. Her family members include parents Rick and Sherry Koehler of Groton, SD, her brother Ryan Koehler and wife Mara along with their daughter Lainey of Canton, SD, her older sister Ashleigh Koehler of Scottsdale, AZ, and younger sister Katie Koehler who is currently a student at NSU in Aberdeen SD.
Nikki loves to fish, play golf, hang out with friends and family and enjoys camping and traveling during the summer months. Nikki is a super fantastic hygienist who puts her patients first and is dedicated to helping you maintain good oral health. She looks forward to seeing you at your next dental hygiene appointment.

Tammy
Tammy was born and raised in Lead, SD in the beautiful Black Hills, she moved to Juneau, Alaska in 1998 and then moved back to the Eastern part of SD in 2017. She currently lives in Hartford, SD and has been part of our Dental Hygiene Team since May 2020.
Her family members include her parents Lawrence and Edith of Lead, SD, two younger brothers Charlie and Rodney, and her two children, daughter Winter and son Keegan and her English Springer Spaniel Harper.
Tammy graduated from Lead HS in 1990 and Sheridan College in Sheridan WY in 1994 with her Associate of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene and has been working as a Hygienist ever since.
She enjoys camping, fishing, running, watching movies, and most of all spending time with family and friends having fun. She is very passionate about oral health education and strives to teach each her patients how to maintain a healthy smile. She is excited to see you at your next Dental Hygiene appointment.
